2007 Hart’s Wine Cellars, Gamay. This wine is made from Niagara-on-the-Lake (ONT) grapes. Howie was somewhat put out by the fact that a completion discounted this wine because of its color (somewhat pale for a red). We agree with him. Once you get past the eye, the wine is fine.

It gives you a variety of fresh young red fruit (strawberries, raspberries, cherries) on the nose and upfront. There is more fruit and very nice mouth feel in middle, and a short but pleasant finish. The wine is very comparable to a mainline Beaujolais the year after release.

We matched it with burgers and the last of our garden’s wax beans. Very nice for a Monday night!

Come to MoCool next summer and I'm sure we could hook you up Steve. I know the winemaker. He is a good guy. I'll bet he'd pop a bottle or two for you and then Julia B will table dance for us!

Seriously, Howie makes a great Gamay. The color on this vintage is a little off, but other than that it is ready to go. I am going to have some with left-over turkey later in the week.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

Carl - glad you enjoyed it!
Steve - I'm flattered and found your address on your website.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
