2006 F. Chidaine “Clos du Breuil”, Montlouis, Loire, France
Montlouis is an appellation of 400 hectares located directly across the river from Vouvray in the region Loire. The estate of Francois Chidaine consists of 16 hectares with 8 distinct plotes. The soil of “Clos de Breuil” is based on clay with flint (Silex). This dry version of Chenin blanc is pure&precise and sublime on the palate. Dense fruit of quince interwoven with floral notes of dried flowers and a subtle minerality. Excellent and long finish. A must-buy for every Riesling lover! Keep your eyes also open for the demi-sec version “Clos Habert”.
90pts.
