WTN: Chateau La Prade 2004 Cotes de Francs

Very dark. Sweet nose. Medium to rich. Very tannic. Good, sweet, fruit. Verging on New Worldiness but not quite there yet. Dominant flavor is bitter espresso. The finish is quite long. The texture and weight make it a bit rough now but it should get better and smoother in 2 years or so. Not a complex wine; more honest and straightforward but would be a really great match for grilled steak or burgers.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

I like La Prade, though I have only ever had it in "great" vintages (2000 & 2005). It ages reasonably well for the short-medium term.
