WTN: '07 Hart's Cabernet Franc/Merlot

2007 Hart's Wine Cellars, Cabernet Franc (67%) Merlot (33%). Grapes from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. We might have popped this one a little too soon, but still enjoyed it.

The wine gave a nice whisp of red fruit on the nose, and showed cherries and berries upfront. The middle provided complex fruit including a little plum, crisp acidity, and lovely mouthfeel. It was a little sharp around the edges, and that was most likely due to its yout. It finish nicely.

The wine matched very weil with sauteed slices of pork loin in Carolina Red Sauce, peas, and Italian rolls. The acid in the wine fenced nicely with the sauce. A splendid Saturday night.

I'm glad you and Beverly enjoyed it. I have a couple cases I'm hiding for a few years. We can try it again at some future get-together.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Have to admit that she only had a sip. She's suffering from pretty bad TMJ right now. Did put half the bottle up in a tightly sealed half bottle overnight. Dumped it into a carafe for an hour and enjoyed it with a sauteed T-bone and baked potato. The wine was much, much better and as smooth as a baby's bum.

Bev is feeling better today, but she's still on a liquid diet.
