1997 Gary Farrell Cabernet Sauvignon "Hillside Vineyard"
Dark ruby color with a slight pink rim and almost black sediment in the bottom of the glass. One whiff and we knew it was past peak. Dark stone fruit, tired black cherry, slight prune, currant, and a hint of maple syrup. Sadly, this wine has seen better days.

1997 Gary Farrell Cabernet Sauvignon “Bradford Mountain”
Same color in the glass but much more lively aromatics and taste. A nice combination of currant, sweet cherry, blackberries, Russian sage and Chinese five spice. More youthful and enjoyable than the Hillside, but drink ‘em now if you have them.

We drank our last 97 GF cab last year, a Hillside that drank like your Bradford. Also had a 91 that was the better of the two wines. These older bottles routinely show up at auction for prices in the $10 range, and they're a bargain almost every time.

$10! I wish you would not have said that because I think I paid around $35 for each of these on release.
