WTN: I am everyday Pinot

2005 Domaine Robert Arnoux Bourgogne Pinot Fin
Oswaldo's recent note on the '06 sent me back to the cellar for another bottle of the '05. Nothing has really changed since mid-summer when I had it last. It's still red-fruit dominated & shows good acid balance with some dark, earthy (not funky) elements under the fruit. Very fine Bourgogne.

Can one find the '05 in the stores still? Where is Oswaldo's note? I am finding straight up Bourgogne very appealing.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

Depends on where you look, James.

Yeah, you can still find some '05s, but the pickings are getting pretty damned slim. I'm scooping up as many of the 05s as I can (especially when the retailer hasn't rapaciously raised the prices). But it's getting difficult to find them.

Scooped up some Drouhin Santenay just the other day, at $19.49 The next vintage was closer to $30.00!

$30!!!! At $20 I am in. At $30 I am out. Drouhin has always been a go to for me in Bourgogne. I think the big two in DC, MacAurthurs and Calvert both have good supplies.

Trust me James - then you were out on this one. It's still around in Massachusetts (land of no shipping), but it's now up to around $30 after a case discount.
