WTN: 2007 Terres Dorées Fleurie

Having liked a bottle of 06 L'Ancien recently, I decided to give the Fleurie a try. Attractive nose of cherry, stems and menthol. Except for the menthol, reminiscent of the nose of the Arnoux pinot fin from two days ago, but darker and more brooding. A little disappointing in the mouth because more sour than fruity. It remained a bit sour even after food and aeration. I preferred the L'Ancien, which even costs less, though perhaps they are not so comparable because the vintages are different. But I kept going back to the glass for the beautiful aromatics; a wine to be sniffed more than drunk.
"I went on a rigorous diet that eliminated alcohol, fat and sugar. In two weeks, I lost 14 days." Tim Maia, Brazilian singer-songwriter.
