WTN: Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Syrah 2003

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Nov 22, 2008 11:24 am

Requinoa Vineyard, Rapel Valley

Decanted and lightly chilled prior to serving.

Black in the glass.

A very rich nose, chocolate, black cherry, some heat.

Thick and weighty in the mouth, black cherry, raspberry, chocolate, quite rich, good acidity, a little edgy with a bite and a bitter streak. Unfortunately, the 14.5 per cent alcohol does make its presence felt.

Moderate tannins on the finish.

Purchased at $33.95 (Canadian).
