WTN: 2000 Gary Farrell Zin, Ricci Vineyard

I don't love zin, but that's because they're not all like Ridge, Nalle or Gary Farrell. Charming boysenberry nose, spicey and full, turns slightly jammy on the finish. Great with our chicken posole last night, but the tannins are full resolve and this wine will be going downhill from here so drink up if you have them. Nice showing for an 8 year old zin, though.

Seriously though - next time you are in the market for zin, take a look at Dashe. Very good pricing, style reminiscent of Ridge (though not as oaky) & just all around tasty juice.

I'll do that. I've certainly heard nothing but good about Dashe wines, I just can't remember having had one.
