WTN: 1999 Larcis Ducasse

No idea where I got this orphan St. Emilion, but we had it last night with dinner. First glass was pretty nice with good mature merlot notes on the nose and palate, red fruit, leather, and a bandaid thing I wasn't wild about. Still, nice enough to drink with our steak but after dinner, it faded quickly and we agreed it made no sense to finish the bottle. A goner.

I would not expect that wine to live 9 years from that vintage.

I've got a few '99s in my cellar, but (hopefully) all from longer-lived stock. Perhaps time to check in.

Neither would I. It just got away from me. :| But most 99's are drinking really well right now.
