N/V Glenora Brut

N/V Glenora, Brut, Sparkling Wine, New York ($10.99 Bremer’s of Utica). They produced it via the transfer method. Alcohol level: 12%.

A surprisingly rich and elegant slightly off dry wine, it gave delicate yeast and fruit flavors, enhanced by a lively effervescence.

We enjoyed it after Thanksgiving dessert of pumpkin pie and apple pie. It was a delightful ending for our festive meal.

Chardonnay and Pinot, but remember it is a New York, not a Finger Lakes appelation.

Aha. Was wondering if it might be riesling. I guess some people do make sparkling riesling up there?

My wife and I had a bottle of this a number of years ago when we were in upper New York State. Don't remember anything about it, other than it impressed me as a well made everyday drinker.

Chateau Frank's (a branch of Dr. Frank) Célèbre is made from Riesling. I suspect there are others, but I'd need to look that up.
