Ordered a bottle of a perennial favorite cheapie at dinner this evening. Pretty nice: soft berry flavors under savoury herbs and roasted meat flavors framed by minimal tannins and relatively low acidity. Seems so resolved and relaxed that had this been served to me blind, I'd have guessed we were drinking a bottle several years older. And that's a good thing, when restaurant wines are typically younger than what one drinks at home.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
