Caves Alianca Vinicola De Sangalhos
Vinho Regional Beiras

A blend of Tinto Roriz (85 per cent) and Touriga Nacional.

Dark cherry red in the glass.

A rich nose of chocolate, spices, fresh-sawed lumber.

Good wieght in the mouth, concentrated and intense, black cherry, raspberry, blood pudding, tarry, spicy, good tangy acidity.

Chocolate and tangy acidity on the long finish.

A very impressive wine.

Rich chocolate and spices on the long finish.

An incredible value at $10.95 (Canadian).

Thanks for that note Bruce. This is one of the few Portuguese reds I've had, and one I liked a lot. My experience was quite similar to the note you posted - and I also love the price.

Portugal fan here! Nice note there Bruce as I lovingly survey my Douro selection in the cellar.
I just checked your product list at LCBO. Try those Quinta Ventozelo for around $18-$22. You will not regret it, cheers.

Couldn't find this on the Aliança website, or in listings around here, perhaps it's a North America-only bottling.
