2007 Hart’s Wine Cellars, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Riesling (gift from producer). Alcohol level: Seems to be around 10%. This wine was included in the armful from Howie at last August’s party.
It gives you ripe pears and some stone fruit on the nose and upfront. More fruit, a small touch of honey, and crisp acidity contribute to the complex middle. The finish was lovely, making us think of the salt air at York.
We matched it with turkey, dressing, and gravy; and Waldorf salad. There were no sweet sides or cranberries. So, the match was perfecto.
