WTN: Vignamaggio Chianti Classico & Gisselbrecht GC Riesling

Vignamaggio Chianti Classico 2006 is available everywhere here for 14€, but I hadn't tried it before. A very serviceable wine but seems to be a warm year (?) wine with its darker and sweeter than expected fruit for what is an unspoofulated Chianti. No oak notes (all in big barrels afaik), but quite full body, charming acidity nonetheless, so despite much fruit it isn't an '03-lookalike. On day two it becomes less to my taste as it smells almost jammy. Serviceable - especially thanks to it being so easily available and affordable by Finnish pricing - and enjoyable but not profound (but then again, not all wines need to be profound).

W. Gisselbrecht Riesling Grand Cru Muenchberg 2004 which has absolutely nothing wrong with it that I can put into words, yet somehow it just doesn't give me the pleasure I was expecting though in theory it is in the style of Riesling I should like. It is dry (or I should say it tastes dry but the acidity seems high enough that it could hide a touch of sugar) and has some nice white flower scents and minerals. So in theory it should be just what I like about Alsace.

Is it a bit closed, or is Gisselbrecht just not a very good producer? This was perfectly decent, but for a GC I was expecting so much more.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.

I am not convinced about Gisselbrecht. Tried a few wines at the tasting bar and nothing struck me as that profound.
