Cotes Du Roussillon-Villages
Jacques and Francis Lurton

A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan.

Dark red in the glass.

Cinnamon, cloves and perfume on the nose.

Medium weight, lots of spices, raspberry, big structure, smooth in the mouth, tangy, cinnamon, red currants, red licorice, somewhat candied, with a bit of a hot bite toward the end.

Some heat, spicy and drying on the finish.

Despite the heat, this was quite a nice wine, with a real "slap in the face" edge to it.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
