There was an amusing article in the NY Times yesterday about re-gifting - pretty light and fluffy, but entertaining. Among other things it said that one of the most often re-gifted items is Champagne, and that in fact Champagne has become the "new fruit cake." I'm just curious how all of you react to this. As someone who is mostly indifferent to Champagne (is it because the first time I ever got drunk it was on bubbly at a friends sister's wedding?) this makes some sense to me, but I know there are some serious Champagne lovers in this group.
