Tasting of samples at the Wine Museum courtesy of Philippine Wine Merchants.

Altos del Cuco 2006 - Monastrell, Syrah, Tempranillo. Hollow, light, high acidity. No good.

Caracol Serrano Tinto Joven Jumilla 2006 - Monastrell, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon. Sweetish, ripe. Medium-bodied. Friendly. Not bad.

Caracol Serrano Crianza 2004 - Monastrell. Light, dry and tannic. Not too interesting.

Pico Madama 2004 - Monastrell and Petit Verdot. Quite dark. Good nose and fruit. Lightish and acidic. Not interesting.

Casa de la Ermita Crianza Petit Verdot 2004 - Nice nose. Coffee. Very tannic. Medium-bodied. Tamarind. Well-balanced.

Casa de la Ermita Crianza 2004 - Tempranillo, Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot. Very dark, some heat. Sweet fruit. Smoke. Rather modern in style. Medium-rich. Very good.

Casa de la Ermita Reserva 2003 - Monastrell, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon. Quite similar to the Crianza but smoother and softer and less smoky. Another wine in a modern style.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
