Dark red in the glass.

A very rich nose of pencil lead, spices, rich berries, chocolate.

Weighty, raspberry, red currants, cranberry, tangy, spicy, red licorice, a little thin toward the end, cedar, pencil lead, lightly floral, with an underlying firm backbone.

After a few glasses, the wine closed in on itself, becoming drying and showing some firm tannins.

Spicy, red licorice, cranberry on the long finish.

Purchased at $16.95 (Canadian).
