Lake Erie North Shore
Light cherry red in the glass.
Smoky, tangy, cherry, raspberry and strawberry nose.
Light to medium bodied but with intense flavours, good tangy acidity, earthy, smoky, cherry, raspberry, strawberry, good brett (barnyard, leather), lots of spices, red licorice, a moderate bitter bite, lightly prickly-effervecent on the tongue, slightly viscous.
With time, the wine gained some weight-heft. After the first glass or two, it closed down and the bitterness increased, so I decanted and left for about 15 minutes. The wine was great after that.
Leather, smoke, earth on the very long finish. With time, the finish changed to mouthwatering and tangy.
A very interesting (and I mean that in the good way) and enjoyable wine.
Purchased at $11.95 (Canadian).
