WTN: Sileni Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Jan 07, 2009 7:57 pm

Marlborough, South Island

Light yellow in the glass.

Strong gooseberry, pine resin and ruby grapefruit on the nose.

Very zippy and refreshing, medium weight, almost plump in the mouth, gooseberry, lime, ruby grapefruit, grassy-vegetal, peppery. A wine that really wakes up the mouth.

Gooseberry on the tangy finish.

Delicious.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).

I've just had the Sileni Cellar Selection Hawkes Bay Rose 2008 - made from Cabernet Franc grapes. Also delicious and tangy. When it's chilled to the bones, it's like a fruity ice block.
Cheers,
Sue
