I recall that a Crossings Pinot Noir was the first New Zealand Pinot Noir I rather liked (I since have had several that I like even more than the Crossings, usually at a higher cost.)
I had a glass of this at a new restaurant in town, Morgan's Chophouse. Had with Italian salad (with olives and goat cheese) in vinaigrette dressing and a few sips left for my main course of crab cheesecake (an interesting concoction of crab, cream cheese, Boursin, mushrooms, herbs in a crust.)
Straw color; transparent. Crisp lemon zest nose. (Wine list described nose of apricot, peach and tropical fruits with flavors tending toward lemon and lime but I didn't find any lusher fruits on the nose.) Lemon seemed to be the main flavor element with perhaps a touch of lime. Refreshing, enjoyable and paired quite well with the salad.
