WTN: 2007 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rose

I loooove Tempier rose, and I'd heard that 2007 was a kick-ass vintage, and my 2007 Lafond Tavel Rose half-bottles I drank over the summer were kickin', so I had high hopes for this one.

And they were dashed. This is fine, I guess, but its completely shut down. Just completely devoid of anything except for a vague taste of strawberry- not a whiff of anything except after a few hours in the glass, where some interesting volatile aromas of berrys and VA waft up from the dregs. You could swap it with Bonny Doon Pink with a couple of years of bottle age and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I've had this open under inert gas in the fridge for 3 days, and it hasn't gotten a whit better.

Impeccable provenance, I think (Chambers Street Wines to my wine fridge) so I dunno what happened here. I don't think it's corked, but I'm not particularly sensitive to TCA.

Sigh. With the price hike to ~$40, Tempier moved into one-a-year territory for me, and this is thus even more disappointing.
