WTN: a Chianti and a Valpolicella

Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2004
Cherry, some raspberry, pure cherry wood, a touch of underlying funk and woodland.
That nice tannic grip of Chianti.
If I had to criticise I’d say it could have slightly higher acidity, but it's OK as is.
Nice typicité.

Speri Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 'La Roverina' 2007
Pale pinky red.
Cranberry, vapours of fungal earth (like mushroom compost), and a woody violet-like floral waft; showing some vanilla and herby-soft aniseed with air.
Ultra-smooth tannins that remain structural/supporting-only in their presence, nice acidity, some sweetness to the fruit, and a subtle vanilla finish with air.
A good lightish red (12.5%) food wine that has interest (i.e., more than just primary fruit).
