2008 Molly Dooker "The Violinest" Verdelho

Molly Dooker does not know how to spell the word "subtle" and the '08 Violinist Verdelho is anything but. It would be impossible to drink this wine without at least thinking, if not saying "Wow!". "Wow" can be either good, or bad. The Violinist is Verdelho on steroids both in alcohol content (15.5%) and taste. If the alcohol doesn't knock you down the aggressive citrus, pineapple, candied apple taste will. I'm sure that purists will hate this way-way over done Verdelho. The cool, wine geek side of me wants to hate The Violinist as well. However, the gee-whiz, exhuberent, teen-aged, party animal side of me won out and I have to admit that I enjoyed this wine. It most definitely held my attention and kept me coming back for more, which was a big problem at that alcohol level. I would probably buy The Violinist again if I could pick it up for around $20.

Ban Sam, Ban Sam, Ban Sam.

The Mollydooker haters demand justice and vengence.

Well, I have had a few Verdies in my time but will definately steer clear of this one!
My experience with MD is limited but have not liked the ones I have tasted. No emails please.

Isn't the Mollydooker itself punishment enough? Let's not add injury to insult.

Not so fast Bill - food pairing; beanie weanies... I thought that would change your tune.

Okay then, effective immediately this is a private Molly Dooker vertical wine tasting. No one is invited except for me! Then, I'm going to post my notes in Latin so that none of you can understand what I'm saying. Ha!

Sarah and Sparky are already in the jam business. Smucker's ought to make them and offer and make it official.
