WTN: Alamos Viognier 2007

Light yellow in the glass.

Spicy, citrus rind nose.

Lemon, orange, marmalade-like, good weight, plush in the mouth, spicy, honeyed, good acidity, floral.

Mouthwatering, citrus rind on the finish.

Quite big, rich and soft. I find some Viognier has a sharp edge, but this one is lovely drinking.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian) and good QPR.

Hmm, guess I don't know how to spell. It is Alamos.

One of my favorite Viogniers in this price range is made by Escorihuela Gascon.

The best Viognier from Argentina is made by Ernesto Catena, under his Alma Negra label.
