Wine Unearthed 'New World' tasting

by Dave C » Sat Feb 28, 2009 7:51 pm

Had a lovely day at a 'Wine Unearthed' Event in Manchester UK - 'New World' wine tasting

http://www.wineunearthed.co.uk/Manchestersat.html

Here are pictures -

We tasted 7 whites in the morning - the last two 'blind' - and 7 reds in the afternoon - again with the last two blind.

Not brave enough to include notes and these were modestly priced wines anyway

Fav white for me Bonterra Vineyards Chardonnay 2005 California
Nose - floral, apple, grass - Palate slight oak, smokey, creamy, buttery

Fav Red Penfolds Bin 128 Shiraz 2005 Coonawarra South Australia
Nose spice with lots of fruit - Palate dark berry or cherry, spice, full mouth feel, high tannins & long finish

Cheers, Dave C
