Barton & Guestier CNdP 2006, imported by Diageo, $50 on the restaurant wine list

I took Mom out to a local French restaurant that serves very good food, but has a limited wine list. It's become more limited since the last time I was there and this was the closest thing I could see to fit the lamb chops I ordered. (By the glass they had Zin, Merlot and PN. I tasted the PN, Hahn (didn't note the vintage) and decided to buy a bottle.)

Cherry cola, candy, no length. <sigh> The Hahn was raspberries and lemon juice - not as close to a lamb wine as the B&G, which was also not what I was dreaming of.
I guess I'll have to remember to take a bottle when I go again. The food is in total opposition to the wine list - really good French comfort food.

Sad that you were up against the wall like this. Barton & Guestier is a mediocre dutyfreeshop tourist trap brand...

Ah, that must have been where I saw the name. It was vaguely familiar and I don't think I ever tried any before last night. Live and learn!
