WTN: Sarrazin Givrey 2006 (Again)

At Beau's Blues Monday last night....

My friend Scott was right-the bottle at the tasting Friday night was odd...maybe even "off." Shows you how tolerant I am of funkyness. :?

This bottle was much cleaner. I know 2006 is supposed to be a mediocre year for lesser producers, but I quite enjoyed this light, elegant Pinot. The bottle showed light cranberry-ruby in color, with a somewhat muted nose. On the palate there was a lovely light mouth feel, very soft tannic structure, and pure fruit of cranberry and cherry. After being opened awhile, a fine savory minerally element appeared. Quite a nice quaffer. 89 points.
