Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Montee De Tonnerre 2005
Lemon-gold.
Poached pear, guava, lemon curd (there’s lacticity), a sweet green-vegetal note (almost like sweet pea), and smell like the wind off a dry wheat field (i.e., has a wheaty/mealy/earthy quality).
On the palate there’s unctuous fruit, quite viscous and buttery on the palate, soft acidity yet still fresh, and pretty long.
This is quite open just now. This seems to reflect 2005 in that it’s quite ripe/oily/sweet and isn’t really tight (or minerally) Chablis, but it is earthy and very enjoyable.
