On the nose, pineapple and a hint of what American grocery stores sell as cantaloupe. A little rosemary. On the palate, full bodied (13 % abv). This is one of those Alsatian Rieslings that have residual sugar but with enough acidity to seem dry (but definitely not bone-dry like Trimbach). No slack in the middle and a long finish.
It was a wonderful choice for a hard match—fried celery root cakes based on a recipe by Robin Garr on the Food Lovers Page back in 2005. $19 from K&L back in 2004—wish I’d bought more!
