... His "basic" Qualitatswein is more than adequate. Picked up a single bottle (stupid stupid me! buy more! now!) of the 2007 Donnhoff Riesling at Crush for about $19 - happily, around the same price that I paid for the 05 which was another gorgeous wine- and after reading some of the recent notes on this from Dale Williams and Jim Cowan, I couldn't resist breaking into this.

10% alcohol, very pale yellow in colour with a fabulous nose that starts out all floral and spicy and with a little bit of air picks up aromas of lime, apple and cherry. Bright fruit flavours on the palate; more apples, limes and cherries with typical Donnhoff elegance and lightness of touch, plenty of acidity and a slate-flecked finish. Yum!

I couldn't agree more, Salil. I brought a bottle of this to Toledo and it was much as you describe. Not a profound wine, but a very pleasurable one.
