It has been a long long time since I have seen a Monte Real anywhere over here so imagine my joy when I visited Planet of the Grapes in Holborn, London and found this `01. Recent comments elsewhere about Monte have not been that complimentary but dinner that night with my daughter`s family had an added touch with this wine!
Took about 2 hrs to open up, did not decant. Cherry, pepper, spice nose. Nice lingering finish, medium acidity. Lotsa cherry on the palate, some earthyness. Just a joy to drink in such wonderful company.
Dinner was Lamb/couscous etc.

SOunds lovely Bob. It's always good when those hand-carried bottles show well.
Decisions are made by those who show up
