Pelee Island
A blend of Baco Noir, Marechal Foch and Zweigelt.
Dark red in the glass.
Coffee, cough syrup, with a mild bitter note on the nose.
Very fruity, fleshy blueberry, cherry, cranberry, red currants, quite full in the mouth, lightly spicy, red licorice, tangy acidity, with a light bitter bite toward the end.
With time, the wine became tangier, but still retained its fruity richness.
Mouthwatering and lightly tart on the finish.
I can see this wine being quite popular during the summer BBQ season.
Purchased at $9.95 (Canadian).
