First of all, sorry to hear that it didn't work out better for you two, JB, but I'm sure that you two will work it out

Clint Hall wrote:Julia, you captured a great metaphor for a closed wine, but since Viagra doesn't work on CdP you're just going to have to be patient and give it time -- in your cellar or in your decanter.
How much time? Mark has the right angle: check the last few months' entries in Cellar-Tracker.
Is you 2000 Pegau a Capo or Reservee?

Thank you Mark..it was just a little lover's tiff, I blame myself. I appreciate your input. I also have a '95, and a couple '01s of this wine. You say you you are still sitting on your '95?
I thought I had a '98 or two but can't find them. Perhaps lost in a moment of passion?
While we're talking CdP, what is your opinion about a '99 Dom Bois De Boursan? I was thinking it was ready for my next 'date'.
Well, I've still got a few rotting in the cellar. I can smell the opportunity for an all-Pegau offline somewhere nearby.

The old adage applies... treat them mean, keep them keen.
On arrival, place them in a darkened corner of the cellar. No words, no secretive glances. Let them sit there in silence. And wait.
After such treatment, when you're ready for them, they'll be keen as anything to impress.

So, tonight I take my lovely rare ribeye off the grill, open the Pegau 2000, and pull the blinds. This is going to be a night to remember...but alas, the conversation takes an unexpected turn..
Me: Helllloooooo baby! (in my best Barry White voice)
CdP: eh
Me: (swirling hard) <sniff>..Nice perfume, hon.(lush fruit rolled in mud)...you could have used a little more
CdP: hmmph
Me: (working up a sweat..hard swirling..giving it my best moves) C'mon baby..talk to me
CdP: (shrug)
Me: <sipping> Mmm nice tease..fruit is ripe..but..no..please, don't shut me out!
CdP: That's all you're getting tonight
Me: (tears in eyes) Honey..please..don't close the door
CdP: <slam>
Okay, experts..I have a few more Dom. du Pegau 2000s...please give me some advice!

I second that! Excellent TN (or dialogue) Julia!

In line with Ian posted, instead of just ignoring them maybe you should play the “tease”. Maybe remove him from the bin or rack and “caress” him just slightly to excite him, bring him to a warmer part of the house to really get his molecules moving. Be strong and patient and return him to the cellar, sooner or later he will come around.
