WTN: Like a leaf that's caught in the tide (ESJ)

by David M. Bueker » Fri Apr 17, 2009 7:22 pm

2006 Edmunds St. John That Old Black Magic
Yum. This is of course very primary, but it has some lovely warm earth tones to go with all the fruit. I very much look forward to the future with this wine.

That was my note after getting home from work. I went out for a quick dinner & came back for a second glass & it's more open, shows some attractive herbal accents & really is hitting on some fine balance of fruit & acid.

And it's in a screw cap to boot!

For years ESJ wines were not distributed in Washington. I'll have to see if they are available now. If not, I'll have one of our children try to get some for me in Oregon.

Glad to hear this is developing well. Although I suppose there is no reason to suspect that it wouldn't :D

It was even better on the second night with more leathery, earthy nuances.
