News: Fire at Dr. Franks winery?

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Apr 22, 2009 12:41 pm

I read a very small item about there having been a fire at the winery, apparently in the restaurant. Can anyone more local (Ed, Howie) shed some light on this?

Whew! From David's link:
The 2,500-square-foot tasting pavilion, which opened in 2007, was used for overflow crowds on weekends and during festivals, Fred Frank said. Winery officials said two other tasting rooms are located in other buildings at the winery and were not affected by the fire. The wine production area and vineyards were not damaged either, he said.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Ditto. Debbie and I had a great time there a couple of years ago during the NiagaraCOOL event. Very nice people, a beautiful spot and tasty wines.

Caught the reference. If it had been the real "Frankie's Firehouse" there would be nothing standing.

Except for the sign about "opening soon in our new location."
