TN: 2000 Domaine de Cambes, AC Bordeaux

Fortunately, I bought a half case of this nectar a few years ago. This is certainly not what you would expect from simple AC Bordeaux. This is what you may expect from a Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) or a Médoc Deuxième Grand Cru Classé...
Nose, palate, finish - the perfect triad. The complex bouquet is overwhelming. On the palate, it shows blueberry, cherry and raspberry fruit, pure cassis, plums, figs, mocha, tobacco, bitter chocolate, and fine tannins. This is an opulent, mouth filling wine with a silky texture and an excellent structure. The finish explodes like a turbocharger, and lingers and lingers and lingers... This flamboyant Domaine de Cambes is vinified by François Mitjavile. What a purity, refinement and elegance!
