2008 Sauvignon Blanc, Nimbus Estate, Vina Casablanca, D.O. Valle de Casablanca (Chile):
Wanted a daily drinker type white and was jonesing for a Sauvingnon Blanc (for some odd reason), so I grabbed this without any previous knowlege. Very young looking with greenish tint. White pepper and a whiff of tutti-fruiti on the nose. On the palate there is green chili, grass and lime-tangerine trailing off into a nice mineral finish. Could be NZ: strikes me as very southern hemispheric, but in a good way. Pretty nice wine for $10; drink young. Bottled under screwcap, 13.5% abv (but not really showing it).
