WTN: "Summer Whites"

2006 J.W. Morris Gewurtz: You know, for $3 this isn't bad. Very sweet lychee nose, off dry, slightly flabby in the mouth. "California" appellation, so I'd imagine these are Central Valley grapes, and its not bad for that all things considered.

2007 Serge Lalou Sancerre: From half. Sort of dilute and insipid, very pale and verging on a greenish tint. Surprisingly creamy mouthfeel- this can't have gone through malo? Grassy nose with a candied fruit note, you could pick this out as Sauv Blanc blind, but its tastes watered down. Mediocre. Was 2007 a good vintage for whites in the Loire like it is reputed to be in Burgundy?

Diving in the close-out bin at Walgreens again, were you? :)
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
