WTN: You might be a redneck

by David M. Bueker » Mon Jun 08, 2009 8:48 pm

2005 Edmunds St. John Redneck 101 Eaglepoint Ranch
Summer is finally comin' in the back woods of Conneteecut, but it's not so hot to keep me from ma wine, so ya take some fruit from the bramble bushes from out back the trailer, combine 'em with a shovel full o' dirt from o'er by the compost pile & throw in some stuff from Granny's herb pots & youze got yerself a pretty nice wine. Not some slicked up cock-tail for dem city folk, but down home salt of the earth, God -fearin' drinkin' wine.

Yee-Ha!

For Bob - the Banff note:

The crassly named but delicious Edmunds St. John Redneck 101 expresses fresh red raspberry puree married to an earthy, Provencal-style herb melange.

Recalling the thread on great tasting notes, here's one from the Aussie wine annual "The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2000-2001" (Kyte-Powell & Hooke), Penguin Books Australia.

This, the preamble to the note, is quoted here in full.

Thirty year ago, Baileys reds were gutsy hillbillies, rough and uneducated in the refined ways of the city folk who were starting to sip table wine. Today they've been to finishing school, they're better dressed and better mannered, but their knuckles still graze the ground
 It certainly tickled my sense of humour (and I like Baileys' reds).

Ian

Can this wine dissolve the paint off your pickup? Does it test out to at least 120 proof? Can this be Steve's white light lightning? It's nice to know.

Sounds like a perfect wine for that important date with a dear (and close) family member.
