2005 Di Arie "Southern Exposures" Zinfandel (Amador)

Now THIS is a Zinfandel I can enjoy. We are talking rational alcohol (14.7%) level, no noticeable heat, reasonable oak, not much residual sugar if any, and a very enjoyable earthyness. Love the black pepper, the savory notes, the smooth mouth feel. This is now going on four years old, so the fruit may have faded, but I like the other elements enough to more than enjoy this wine. Does the old vine myth really mean something (there is 100 year old vines in this blend). Outstanding 90 points+!
