Cracked last night w/ my tofu soup:
1. Jaffurs SantaBarbaraCnty Roussanne (13.5%) 2008: Med.light gold color; lovely spicy/Roussanne/honeysuckle/floral slight figgy/honeyed/ripe nose; tart rich/lush floral/honeysuckle/Roussanne very spicy/nutmeg flavor; very long melony/floral/honeysuckle/spicy/Roussanne finish; a beautiful Roussanne that should age well. $30.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This '08 edition seems a bit more restrained than previous versions, which tended towards the DollyParton part of the spectrum; higher acidity/less alcohol but still plenty of lush/ripe Roussanne flavors. Jaffurs is consistently one of my favorite Calif Roussannes and this is about as good as it gets.

Sounds lovely, especially because balanced by the acidity.
"I went on a rigorous diet that eliminated alcohol, fat and sugar. In two weeks, I lost 14 days." Tim Maia, Brazilian singer-songwriter.
