IGT Salento
Menhir
Dark red in the glass.
Nothing much on the nose. Light raspberry, I suppose, if I think hard about it.
Fairly weighty, smooth and thick in the mouth, rich cherry fruit, some bitterness, tangy acidity, very spicy, blood pudding and red licorice.
A tangy, drying finish.
The wine started out rather thin and disjointed, but settled down and filled out quite nicely with a bit of time.
Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).
