How did I do at the wine sale?

by Jim Cassidy » Sat Aug 08, 2009 8:58 pm

Today at the Utah wine store in Salt Lake, I grabbed two half-price bottles, a 2003 La Casa Brunello di Montalcino from Caparzo for $37 and a 2004 Taltarni Shiraz for $10. I think the Brunello might be a steal.

Jim
The Taltarni should be a keeper - expect to hit some tannins if you open it in the next 5 years.

Very nice price on a Brunello, and ditto on the Taltarni--very traditional style producer whose wines usually develop a lot of Rhonish savory character as they age.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
