Peggy and I tried a new-to-us restaurant in nearby Catonsville last night - the Catonsville Gourmet. It's a restaurant attached to a fish market, and they have no liquore license so they encourage people to bring wine with a $5 corkage fee. It was comfortable but noisy, a fun kind of noisy, relaxed atmosphere, service was a bit slow - the place was hopping, but the food was quite good. Simple, fresh, perfectly prepared fish dishes. I found this to be an excellent match with a pistachio encrusted sea bass topped with crab imperial.
- 2005 Peter Michael Chardonnay Belle Côte - USA, California, Sonoma County, Knights Valley (8/8/2009)
A perfect copy of the last bottle, drinking very well. Light gold color, moderately intense nose of citrus, white fruits, minerals, some floral and vanilla-y oak notes. Medium-full bodied, big fruit balanced with plenty of acidity, peaches, lemon, minerals follow from the nose, nice finish, excellent-outstanding. Really nice match with the rich pistachio-encrusted sea bass with crab imperial.
