WTN: Montalto Pinot Grigio 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Aug 23, 2009 11:39 am

IGT Sicilia
Barone Montalto

Bright yellow in the glass.

Spicy, pear and light honey on the nose.

Light to medium bodied, pears, a hint of tangerine, spicy, rich, good clean acidity, peppery, with a light bitter citrus rind bite.

Pears on the mouthwatering finish.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $9.95 (Canadian) and good value for an everyday PG.

Pinot Grigio from Sicily? How bizarre. I wonder if it was grown there or bussed in from N.Italy...
