Terra D'aligi
Abruzzo
Dark purple in the glass.
Rich chocolate and spicy on the nose.
Rather hefty, substantial and thick in the mouth, tangy, juicy black cherry and blackberries, a light bitter bite, drying, tarry, smoky, chocolate.
Drying on the finish.
The wine was far from impressive with the first glass: the nose was sharp and seemed maderized and the wine was rather fruitless with lots of acidity. With time, it filled out and plumped up quite nicely. A nice little wine, but would be even nicer at a few dollars less.
Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
