WTN: 2006 Gloria St Julien

by Jacques Levy » Wed Sep 09, 2009 4:33 pm

With seared rib eye, a green salad and corn on the cob, we tried a half bottle of this yesterday; quite nice, dark ruby color, chewy texture, the nose is not giving much but the wine is still very young. It does have enough fruit to age a couple of decades and gain complexity. It is not on par with with the 2000 or the 1996 but is still delicious. Recommended if you can find it at a reasonable price, though I still prefer the 2006 Lagrange.
Best Regards

Great wine. Used to be affordable. I wish the price hadn't shot up.
Last time I bought it it was 25 dollars now its around 50. Why?
