Tom, Hi....

As Leonard Cohen sings and is quite correct in that "there ain't no cure for love" neither is there a cure for the romance of Champagne. Champagne is the friend in the trenches, it is the ray of sunshine on cloudy days: it is the ideal accompaniment to pre- or post-coital moments; it is the only wine that always makes a woman look like a lady. Champagne is a friend that can do you no harm. And dare one challenge this in France you will be looked upon as either sick or more than slightly insane.

Vive la France. Vive le Champagne. I will go even further:

Vive la, vive la,
Vive l'amour.
Vive la, vive la,
Vive l'amour.
Vive l'amour, vive l'amour,
Vive la compagnie!!

Thanks for the link!

And I agree with all that Rogov said!

About the only thing I cant quite understand is the title. To me such things only add to the romance of champagne, not take out of it! Nonetheless, it is definitely the most romantic beverage on earth in my eyes. Then again I've been biased and enraptured by it's pleasure from the start so perhaps any comments I make should be taken with a grain of salt (or is that a grain of bubbles)? ;)

Actually the idea that the aromas are significantly attributed to the "exploding" bubbles seems so elementary that I honestly wonder why a team of researchers needed to study it.
